Big 3D / Flips Lenticular Murals and Billboards

Large size murals and billboards are widely used in indoor / outdoor display. A good quality 3D / Flips lenticular board can dramatically increase the attractiveness. The size of murals and billboards can be up to 5M x 10M or even bigger, but the typical lenticular sheets on the market is 1.2M wide x 2.4M high. So, the making of such big size murals or billboards require the using of multiple panels. In 2003, we have developed a fast, effective and low cost solution...

 

Large size mural widely used in subway / train stations, shopping malls, etc. A good quality dynamic 3D / flip effect on part of your board can save lots of money and maximize the attractiveness. It is also important that visual effects can tell people your ideas more than words can do!

Tiled (multiple panels) Lenticular Construction Training

For creation of big size murals or billboards lenticular, you need tiled lenticular construction technique. Also, there are many issues must be considered during such lenticular images creation. Most of the lenticular creation software / systems do not aware of that issues properly and in fact, there are many physical issues too. So, we have further developed new techniques to overcome all these problems by extend our existing lenticular imaging system to create top quality tiled lenticular image. The following chat shows the maximum size our system can do related to LPI of lens material.

* It's important that our systems can recreate any "tile" in the final image perfectly and easily to save time and money for repairing work.

Large size outdoor billboard can be over 10M x 10M. The image can be easily created using our system within several hours using PC computer. Once the tiled images are created, it can be "merge" together using our alignment technique. Every "tile" in the finished image can be re-created easily and 100% perfectly match the previous created one without redo the whole project. It saves money and time for repairing works.

Software

We use our own development Lenticular PC (Tiled Edition) for lenticular interlacing in our system. As you know the job is very big in size, even small mistake in calculation can degrade the quality and visual effect, in worst case, you lost your client! We have newly developed lenticular pro (tiled edition) to fit this purpose, now, we use 5 decimal places (in mm) for calculation for most accurate image output, also, we create each "tile" individually by our system rather than cut-and-paste to minimize the accumulative error. A fastest engine is used for fast and accurate interlacing, you can even use a notebook computer to generate a 16 frames, 1.2M x 2.4M 15LPI picture in around 1.5 mins, the output file is around 350 Mega bytes! A single "tile" that the system can create is up to 30,000 pixel x 30,000 pixel, that is 2.3M x 2.3M (use 20LPI lens, with 16 frames). Compose 18 frames 15LPI 1.2M x 2.4M Image, use half frames compression, around 1.5 mins, output file 226 Mega bytes

 

Tiled lenticular murals / billboards creation work flow

The creation of large size tiled lenticular murals / billboards can be divided into two parts. The first part is the works are done in computer. The second part is the making of panels. The brief work flow as below:

 

Preparing the original artwork.. Printout of each "tile"...
Lamination of each "tile"... Merge / mount each tile together...
1.2M x 2.4M Lens "tiles" Large size ink-jet printing
Laminate each "tile" Merged tiles used as displayed in background.
